Congrats Meat Pasta

Tonight, we are celebrating our new acquisition: a dining room set!!! So, I cooked some pasta with meat and tomato sauce to celebrate. I've been a little sick and taking antibiotics, so we couldn't open a wine bottle.. haha, but still, it was good with diet Coke!

Ok, so I wasn't planning on posting this recipe, and suddenly y decided to do it, so I had already started to cook the pasta... But I used around 2 cups of fusilli pasta and little bit more than just enough water to cook it. So first, I let the water boil (no salt, oil, butter, anything). When it starts boiling, I throw the pasta in there at medium heat and cover the pot.

I let it cook for 11 minutes (stir once at 5 minutes) and then, turn the heat off, leave it there, covered for 2 more minutes. Then rinse and drizzle some olive oil to prevent the pasta from sticking together.

Now, for the tomato meat sauce I used:
  • 1.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp Knorr's beef broth bouillon
  • 3/4 bottle of tomato pasta sauce (I used garlic and herbs flavor)
  • 1/2 lb ground sirloin beef
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/4 onion finely chopped

Chop the onion...

...and add it in a previously low heated skillet, with vegetable oil.

When the onion is transparent, add the meat.

Stir and add beef broth bouillon and pepper and keep stirring...

...until the meat is no-pink.

Add the tomato sauce and stir.

Cover and leave it in real low heat for 5 minutes.

Stir again and top with mozzarella cheese.

Cover.

After 10 minutes... OMG, this is looking so yummy!

I served it with Quick-n-Easy Italian Bread. As an answer to some of my readers' question, in order to serve you just place some pasta in a plate, and cover it with salsa/meat and cheese. You can always add more cheese, or Parmesan cheese.

Wanna try it?

Enjoy!
